Team Asobi is still updating its celebrated platformer Astro Bot, with five new levels added today.

These levels are part of the extra challenging Vicious Void Galaxy, and bring the total number of levels in the game to over 90.

The levels will also include new secret bots to rescue. While these are largely under wraps, Team Asobi has revealed the protagonist from Sucker Punch’s forthcoming Ghost of Yōtei – Atsu – is one of them.

Hinting at what to expect, the five new levels are named Twin-Frog Trouble, Suck It Up, Handhold Havoc, High Inflation, and one other to be revealed.

Team Asobi also hinted completing all levels in the Vicious Void Galaxy “might lead to something really cool”.

As an added bonus, an updated version of the limited edition Astro Bot DualSense controller will be launching later this year, after the previous controller proved so popular. More details can be found on the PlayStation Blog.

Astro Bot has been a big success for PlayStation and has received multiple free updates since its release in September last year.

Earlier this year, director Nicolas Doucet discussed the making of the game at the Game Developer Conference. Here he stated it’s “OK to make a small game”, reflecting on the game’s AA level scope.

As for Ghost of Yōtei, a PlayStation State of Play later this evening will show off its gameplay.
